Snow White

 Oil on Canvas 2001 Framed

 £2000

 351/2’’ x 29’’ (90.2 x 73.6cm)

The story of Snow White is older than the Celts

themselves. She represents feminine power and

she rises from the dead. Here, she has escaped her

murderous mother. She is protected by the wild

animals of the forest; some of them are wolves –

wrongly portrayed in other fairy stories as murderous

themselves. She will eventually reach the cottage,

 which is her sanctuary.
